With some customers moving to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, we have found an issue with the export from Smartlist to Excel.  The formatting of amounts will appear correct in Smartlist but when exported will drop some leading zeroes (in some cases) and currency amounts are being exported with 5 decimals and no currency symbol.  With some research, we’ve found that it is not considered a bug but was developed this way due to the need to improve the performance of Smartlist exports over the browser.

What we have found is that there is an undocumented Dex.ini switch which should improve this formatting problem and it also improves the export time from Smartlist to Excel.  This switch needs to be added to your Dex.ini:

If you have any questions on how to do this, please give us a call.

Another issue that has been around for a long time in Smartlist is the annoyance of the amount of space the Navigation Pane takes up on the left.  See Before screenshot below.  We can help you decrease the space that takes up and give you more room for the query you’re running on the right.  See After screenshot below.   It will require a small package file to be imported and a change to security as it creates a modified window.  If you are interested in this, please give us a call and we will get the package to you with the instructions for import and the changes to security.

Hopefully these two tips will be of some help to you and contact us should you need any assistance with SmartLists!
