Microsoft Flow Video: Automated Workflows for Seamless Productivity

Business users of Microsoft products and services like Office 365 and Dynamics 365 often need to complete the same tasks on a regular basis. For some this repetition becomes a way of life, a daily routine that is monotonous but necessary in order to stay productive. Microsoft Flow is an innovative service that gives business users the power to automate many of the repetitive processes so that they can focus their attention on work that requires human ingenuity.

According to the Flow website, users can “create automated workflows between your favorite apps and services to get notifications, synchronized files, collect data, and more.” Flow can connect to over 100 Microsoft and third-party applications and services, including SharePoint, Office 365, OneDrive, Twitter, Dropbox, Outlook, Dynamics 365, Yammer, Excel and Google Calendar.

Every flow you create has a trigger and an action. The trigger is the event that initiates the flow. It could be an email from your boss or a tweet from an important business connection. The action is the step or steps Flow takes after the trigger. You can fully customize these actions to do precisely what you need to do, when you need to do it, with multistep flows. You can also set conditions so that flows only occur when a number of specific conditions are met.

Microsoft Flow operates on top of Logic Apps on an Azure platform, but you can get started with it even if you do not have an Azure subscription. It is included free with Office 365 and Dynamics 365.
