Dynamics AX - Dynamics 365 Release Plans

1. Inventory Visibility Add-in for Advanced Warehouse Management (WMS)

Businesses using advanced warehouse management (WHS) will be able to use the Inventory Visibility Add-in to allocate inventory and make soft reservations. Inventory allocation allows you to reserve on-hand inventory for your most important channels and clients. Soft reservations will help you keep track of sales demand and prevent overselling. You will also have the ability to track real-time consumption of quantities allocated to specific channels, stores, or markets. In addition to improved tracking, businesses can obtain a full inventory summary across all channels. This will allow you to improve your inventory analytics, and in turn, your distribution.

2. Warehouse Management Updates

Dynamics 365’s warehouse management solution already provides robust and flexible capabilities. However, we believe these new enhancements will take this solution to another level. The new mobile packing experience allows warehouse workers to perform packing activities on the move with the Warehouse Management mobile app. The implementation and configuration process is revamped which will significantly reduce your implementation time and costs. Additionally, Azure Application Insights gives businesses easy insights into the performance and usage of their warehouse management system.

3. Enhanced Procurement

The updates to procurement and sourcing will increase your organization’s resiliency and agility of your supply chain operations. The new risk assessment dashboard makes it easier for you to find and diagnose sourcing delays and shortages. This will help you be significantly more proactive when optimizing your supply chains.

4. Multi Languages for Product Information

This release wave brings numerous improvements that allow users to work with product information in their local language. This is a game changer for companies who work internationally and with multi-languages. For these companies, it's important to enable each user to work with product information in their own language. Sales representatives communicating with customers by phone will see product names in their local language. Purchasers will be able to search for products in the language they speak. Shop floor workers will get product names and instructions in familiar terms. In each case, the information can be shown in a language other than the system language.

5. Planning Optimization Updates

The 2022 Release Wave will include Dynamics 365 Supply Chain enhancements for Planning Optimization. The primary goal of these enhancements is to add support for more scenarios, improve planning accuracy, and help users respond to changes more efficiently.

  • Planning Optimization can now take into account supply forecasts.  Generated material requirements plans will have enhanced accuracy for your future planning.
  • Process manufacturers can now use Planning Optimization for scenarios that include co-products, batch orders, and by-products.
  • Planning Optimization includes finite material availability when automatically scheduling actual, firmed production orders ensuring planned production orders will not be delayed due to material shortages.

6. Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Manufacturing

As far as manufacturing goes, the enhancements are sharply focused on improving “shop floor agility.” Here are the two we are most excited about:

  • The upcoming enhancements to Sensor Data Intelligence add new asset management scenarios and make it possible for you to customize and extend scenarios to fit your needs.
  • They also separate physical registration from derived financial updates. This will significantly reduce the latency that occurs in the production process.

It's important to find the right software solution. It's also important to find an implementation partner that can help you get the most out of the system. That is why Clients First is not a software company, we are a business solutions and services company. Clients First is a Gold Dynamics ERP and Certified Cloud Service Provider and an Acumatica Gold Partner.
