The 2022 release wave 1 for Dynamics 365 brings exciting innovations that provide you with significant capabilities to transform your business. The release contains hundreds of new features across Dynamics 365 applications.

We've chosen three of our favorites from the many enhancements supplied by the most recent update to Microsoft Dynamics 365.

1. Updated Field Service Scheduling Board

Microsoft's schedule board for Field Service was a game changer. Now, based on customer requests, it's been updated for even better performance. There's a visual change, faster loading, and enhanced performance for scheduling and rescheduling. An improved full-screen mode hides unnecessary info and distractions so schedulers can work with a minimalist view.

Keep track of scheduled and unscheduled work orders. And the Map on the scheduling board gives a better visual of the location of requirements and resources.

Dynamics 365 Field Service offers usability enhancements to the schedule board, making it faster and more intuitive for users. The Field Service mobile app has enhancements that will boost technician productivity and is also fully supported on Windows devices.

2. Enhanced Email Templates

Email templates are great if you send similar content to many recipients. They help save time and provide a way to create consistent, professional, preformatted email messages that can be used repeatedly. Now, Microsoft allows you to search among email templates for the one you need. Populate these templates and send them directly from the application. The update will make it easier for users to locate templates with the correct content and send emails more expeditiously.

This admin-enabled feature will allow users to change how email templates are displayed. In previous versions, there was a list view only. Now users can choose a grid or tile view as well.

The previous version allowed searching for templates by title; now, there is an added ability to search by title, description, or content. Enter any content that might appear in the template's body, and your results will pop up. You can even input filters for custom templates designed for your business.

3. Expanded Sales Features and Licensing

Dynamics 365 Sales focuses on enabling sales professionals to harness the power of data and intelligence, which will help them to forecast, compare annual projections, and measure performance using predictive scoring.

Licensing changes can make a big difference to growing businesses. Previously, some features were available only with Sales Premium Licensing. With the 2022 release, such features as Sales Accelerator, Conversation Intelligence, and Predictive scoring are now available to Sales Enterprise licensees.

Sales Enterprise Licenses will enable limited access to some advanced features:

  • Get 3 hours of conversation intelligence per user per month.
    • Conversation intelligence delivers call summary and action item extraction with Microsoft Dynamics' AI models
  • Get 1500 records connected to a sequence in Sales Accelerator per environment per month.
    • Sales Accelerator sequencing allows users to automatically create activities related to Accounts, Contacts, Leads, and Opportunities. Sellers can see recommended next steps as they work their sales pipelines.
    • 1500 leads or opportunities records scored per environment per month. Predictive scoring enables users to organize and prioritize all their ongoing deals and opportunities based on configurable record-scoring models.

Businesses with an Enterprise license can now sample some of Microsoft Dynamics' advanced selling tools before paying for Sales Premium Licensing. As the business grows and user adoption shows the value of these tools, the organization can increase its capacity and get unlimited use of these features with the Premium License.

The Possibilities are Endless

The 2022 release wave 1 for Dynamics 365 contains hundreds of new features across Dynamics 365 applications, including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Insights, Human Resources, Commerce, Fraud Protection, Business Central, Connected Spaces, Guides, Remote Assist, Customer Insights, Customer Voice, and Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, Financial Services, Sustainability, and Nonprofit.
