eCommerce site usually displays items as a Parent/child or Configurable product. This gives customers an option to choose the variant of that item. For example, a shirt with five colors and five sizes is shown as one item on the eCommerce site allowing the visitor to select the sizes and colors they want.
There are SKUs under one item on the eCommerce site. Furthermore, these individual SKUs may have the same or different prices, descriptions, and quantities in an ERP solution. If those variants are uploaded on the eCommerce site without combining them under a Parent item, they will show up as different products, not as one product with multiple color and size options.

The custom, Shopify-specific, the menu created by x2x eCommerce provides the option for creating the in addition to other options. Selecting Parent Item from the x2x Shopify Menu will open a new window with the list of all the parent items already created and there is also an option to create new items.
Features of x2x Parent Item
Parent Item card of x2x allows the user to define multiple entities. These entities include Title of Product, description, Tags, Vendor/Brand, Item Category (Collection on Shopify). Moreover, the integration allows creating options similar to the Shopify store for full integration. Example of such options is Color, Size, Style, etc. To make a complete product, attach child items to a parent item like we define Products on Shopify. Now, upload this product on Shopify easily. Once uploaded, the item will be created with its child items ready to accept customer's orders.
