Just released on December 1 2017, Dynamics GP 2018 promises an array of epic feature enhancements. According to a recent Microsoft announcement, we should expect to see an uptick in the release cadence of their ERP products with a new version coming out yearly.

Key Features

Topping the list of new features worth celebrating in Dynamics GP 2018 are the following.

  1. Document Attach

Document Attach has evolved since Dynamics GP 2013 with new functionality being added with every release. Now there are new windows where files can be added, additional ways to view and modify attachments, and new drill back functionality.

  1. GP Web Client

A few changes were made to the web client that make it A LOT easier to use.

  1. SmartList Favorite Password protection

Users have the option to put a unique password on smartlist favorites.  This will allow for tighter controls as each password can be different instead of a system set password.

  1. Workflow

Dynamics GP 2018 features significantly enhanced workflows.  There are new workflows around GL Accounts, purchasing (Receiving, Invoice Match) and Payables plus reminder emails.

 

As a current Dynamics GP customer, if you are up to date with the Microsoft maintenance plan purchased at the time of initial implementation, then you are entitled to the latest version of the software at no additional charge.
