Microsoft Dynamics NAV Compared with Sage
When it comes to Mid-Market ERP systems, two names consistently find themselves on the short list. Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Sage. Both products improve efficiency, create operational visibility, and allow you to make more informed business decisions; however, one product consistently has the edge.
Dynamics NAV has the power and capabilities that enable you to do far more in a much shorter period of time. Users find themselves staying in the system and leveraging capabilities across the business; whereby Sage users still find themselves using spreadsheets and additional data outside the platform to perform some daily tasks. Dynamics NAV provides greater efficiency because everything is stored within the system, and everyone has access to the same sources of information. Dynamics NAV gives the user full operational visibility over their day to day tasks by keeping action items organized on the NAV desktop. They’re able to receive emails, import documents, and follow workflow --all with the click of a button. Many times Sage users find themselves disorganized and trying to manage too many different task and operations at once.
The robust and powerful reporting functionality that NAV provides out of the box allows any business unit/ or owner, to make better, more informed decisions. It includes business intelligence that is relevant and easy to use right on the desktop. In order for a user to access that same data in Sage, the user has to use the Crystal Reporting tool. This tool can prove confusing and cumbersome to the average user.
When comparing Sage and Dynamics NAV for any mid-sized company, the features speak for themselves. Dynamics NAV is a much more powerful tool, and with its flexible license structure, has the ability to grow with your business.
