Many distributors and manufacturers take advantage of the Multi-Bin functionality in Dynamics GP. Enabling Multi-Bins provides the ability to sub-divide a warehouse into many small locations (bins), with inventory tracked inside each bin. You can also specify each Item's Bin Priority (a ranking of which bin should be used first), and Min/Max levels for each bin. Using bins allows a company to more efficiently receive inventory in purchasing, and pick inventory for sales, by using a directed put-away or pick which sends warehouse personnel to specific bins.
Accurate inventory control also requires that inventory movement between bins be recorded in the system. Knowing when inventory moved, and who moved it, is not only important for good inventory control, but it may also be required in some regulated industries. WilloWare’s
