Existing Microsoft Dynamics® GP users have new options when making the upgrade to the recently released Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013. Due to licensing changes, you now have the option to manage human resources activities and payroll with the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 starter pack. You may be able to save money and exert greater control over human resources and payroll activities by managing these activities in-house, instead of out-sourcing them. Here are three things you should know about the human resources and payroll features included in the starter pack.

1. It’s integrated: The human resources and payroll are integrated with the rest of the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 application. You have a single record for each employee that includes both human resources and payroll information. Eliminate the need for duplicate records and manage the employee records efficiently and accurately. Use this information to calculate profit margins and labor productivity for activities by employee, department, or product line.

2. It’s easy: Managing human resources and payroll is just as easy as the other features. You can manage standard time pay and over-time, as well as other variations in pay rates. Make changes in tax deductions, health insurance premiums, or other changes for a single employee or for all employees.

3. It’s insightful: There are over 300 reports that come with the human resources and payroll features, so you can have even more insight into your people and processes. Look at employee records, pay codes, union details, or other information for specific employees or groups of employees.

When you make the upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics 2013, you will have the opportunity to manage more of your own payroll and human resources activities, if you weren’t doing these activities already.
