Since the recent announcement of Microsoft Dynamics ERP moving to the cloud this year, other enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendors have taken interest.   For example, Sage recently announced that they will partner with Microsoft in order to use Microsoft Azure as their platform for their cloud ERP offerings.  An alliance of this nature shows that ERP vendors are all eyeing the same goal, and willing to work together to achieve it – the ability to offer software as a service using cloud technology.

Businesses in nearly every industry sector, and of all sizes, are making plans to utilize some type of cloud-computing in the near future, if they aren’t on the cloud already.  Since the market is demanding it, software vendors are mobilizing to make sure that their software is cloud-ready when their customers are ready to make that deployment change.  Microsoft Azure is gaining popularity with other software vendors because it is a reliable platform for nearly anyone to develop applications and offer them in the cloud.

Microsoft Azure, like other commonly used Microsoft products, is easy to use and reliable.  Using a global network of data centers, software vendors can quickly develop and deploy their applications in any language, with any features and functions, and manage them with their own IT departments.  This software eliminates the vendor’s need to focus on hardware or infrastructure, so they can focus on developing software that meets client demands.  Cloud computing also saves money since you only pay for what you use.

Cloud computing offers many benefits to businesses – it saves money in IT expenses, brings global offices and customers together, and is a powerful tool for sales and field employees who don’t often work at the office.  Microsoft Azure is proving to be a reliable platform to use for cloud applications since it is being sought and used by other software vendors interesting in offering their ERP in the cloud.  Contact Rimrock Corporation for more information about cloud-computing and the benefits it can offer your business.
