So on a recent development project I was using the GP 2010 web services.  Using the web services for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 is really a breeze, and the services are packed full of useful and quick functions to get just about any development need done quickly and efficiently.

I and other users recently noticed a strange problem occurring with one piece of functionality. The problem was with any formatting of the GP system notes field. Anytime I tried to update it through the web services all the formatting was lost.

After some digging I also found other users who were experiencing the same troubles, and thought that this article would prove useful to anyone looking for an answer as well.

When you are submitting notes using the web service, all you have to do is replace the text that you are sending with a marker that determines that a return has been sent as well. Then you can find and replace this text with a sql stored procedure and you are ready to go. We have been using this solution for a few months now and it functions great.

I have contacted Microsoft support GP development team and they will have support for this  in the next service pack release as well.
