If you missed part 1 of the series “You’re Wasting Money” you can follow this link to catch up. Today we are going to cover the need for accounting automation. Yes, automation is a need and it isn’t just automating your workflow, it’s also automating your system.

Manual work is most likely the bane of your existence. If you are entering data into 3 different Excel sheets that are housed on 2 different systems and can be changed at any time by 4 different people, there is a huge reliability issue. How many times have you been confused by naming conventions? Have your files corrupted? Have you ever pulled a file older than the one you needed? Chances are the answer to at least one of these questions is yes.

When you move to a cloud system automation comes naturally. With one centralized system, you enter your data once and it is updated system-wide. It’s literally that easy. You can also recall data more easily and open visibility within your systems. Data at your fingertips. What you want to see, when you want to see it. You have the added ability to lock people out of sections you don’t want them to have and give access to people who may not have had access when it was crucial to them.

Updates are also taken out of the equation. How are updates handled with your current system? Generally, you would have an IT technician come in for a few hours for a day or 2 and work to get your system updated. This is where hardware updates can also come into effect. With cloud systems like Sage Intacct, the updates are all done server side, pushed to all customers at once with zero intervention. Everyone gets the same up-to-date system at the same time, keeping your business running like a well-oiled machine.

Take a look at our Trusted and Ready for Growth pdf. 96% of Enterprise level companies are looking at a cloud system or already have one in place. With an attention rate this high you can’t really afford not to give investigate it less you risk being left behind.
